He sensed her anxiety before she acted. A quiet 'no' graced his lips, green hues widening as he turned to face her. Before the stag could reach for her she was gone, screams left in her wake. A deep breath was sucked into his burning lungs before he set off after her. She was fast, almost too fast for him. Though he didnt have to chase her long. 

The mare went spiraling, head over heels into the ground. The bay let out his own curdling scream as he watched, unable to stop her tumble. He skidded to a stop, watching her body fall still from afar. "Zephyr?" His voice was a hoarse whisper despite its screaming urgency. 

When she did not respond he set off, reaching her in no time. Her eyes fluttered with her drive to stay awake.He knew she could not see him, but it burdened him all the same.

"Zephyr... I... what happened?" The words were still a whisper, faded as he searched for any open wounds on the mare's body. Something was off, she couldn't have just flipped like that. No, she trusted him. A growl escaped his throat as his head swung around as if whatever it was that scared her would announce itself.
