    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    The Sands of Time [Any]
    #1
It has been nearly 90 years since Dovasaryy last set foot in the Deserts. It felt so strange to have awoken after so many years, not knowing if the passage of time was just a dream or if it really happened. She shows no physical signs of aging; her body is still young. She is only aware of the passing history like a sleeper who has awoken from a dream, faintly remembering snippets, but never able to grasp its entirety.

She is the granddaughter of the legendary queen 9/11 and thus her heart belongs to the Deserts. She contemplates her situation as she slowly makes her way towards her rightful home. Things have changed greatly since she was last in Beqanna and it seems wisest to keep her past, and her heritage, to herself for the time being. There simply isn't an easy way to explain what has transpired. She hardly understands it herself. All that she knows is that a great amount of time has passed, without her experiencing it, and that she is still the same age as when she 'fell asleep'.

A soft smile plays at her lips, with a sense of gratitude and relief, as she feels the warm golden sands beneath her hooves once more. Home. The landscape has changed, but she finds comfort in the general familiarity and she is able to find the oasis with relative ease. Her dam, Golden Phoenix, had lived in, and loved, the Deserts. Phoenix had never reached any rank that would be remembered in the annals of history, but she had been very devoted. After being raped by Austyn, Phoenix could no longer face her beloved home. Dovasaryy spent her first years of life wandering Beqanna aimlessly with her dam. But, around the age of 3 she grew exceedingly tired of this and took up residence in the Deserts. Not more than a year could have passed before her memories end. Now, she has the chance to live the rest of her life here.

Her strong hooves come to rest a short distance from the pool that resides at the heart of the oasis. She bathes her black coat in the sun, rejoicing in its comforting warmth. Her gazes scans curiously about her searching out the faces of the Deserts' new residents. She is eager to rejoin the Deserts' ranks and create a legacy for herself, one that befits the granddaughter of a queen.

[OOC] Eek! Sorry, I am so very rusty! And I am still trying to figure out how this whole '90 years have passed' thing is going to work! XD [/OOC]

The little buckskin is alone, leaving her beloved daughter in the capable hands of child-minder Cam. She needs the rest, her body finding it difficult to recuperate from the traumatic birth. She rests by the magic pool, the oasis gifted by the spirit of Beqanna to their desert home. Her home.

Her eyes dance along the surface of the water, watching the sunlight split and glide, collide and escape. She cocks her head, wondering what the spirit wanted when it created such a thing, what it expects of her as Queen of this land, what it expects of all whom dwell here in the empty sands. After all, the sands have never been so empty. Yael could save Van's garden with her magic, Cam could save Gumpy with hers, but everything else has been laid bare. A blank canvas for a new generation of desert-dwellers.

A black figure flits across the horizon, gliding closer to the inviting water that the little sun-Queen diligently guards. At first, she is a flitter of shapes and a mere outline of a form, but the closer she comes, the more solid the mare looks - her body uninterrupted by the radiation the shimmering heat from the desert ground. Pevensie can fully perceive her now, a proud figure, a picture of femininity/

Pev advantages from underneath the shady palms, quivering beneath the oppressive heat of the sunshine. It feels too much when even putting one hoof before another is excruciating, but she must carry on, bare on through the pain and fulfil her duties to the kingdom. Besides, it is not this mares fault that she must endure this pain, if anything, the blame can only rest on Pev's on shoulders. Yet, if this is what must happen to have made her daughter, the sun-mare would still not change a single thing.

She limps stiffly around the edge of the pool, slowly but surely making her way about to greet their newest visitor. She can only assume there mare is here to compete in the mocks, for that is why the most recent deluge of newcomers has advanced upon her sandy kingdom.

"Welcome. A thousand greetings from the Deserts," she says by way of introduction, bobbing her head subtly, smiling her steady warm smile. "I am Pevensie, Queen of the Deserts. I hope your journey was not too difficult," she adds, "What has brought you to our lovely sandy kingdom today?"
