Truth is, he is more himself than he was last time, or the time before, and even the first time - even when he had still had hope for Breckin to return to him.

And even when they were together in the lands where he had grown up, a place where magic did not exist, he might not have been fully himself.

He had been most himself when he was on Icicle Isle - then, and now. Was it the place then, that established this? No, even he understands that this cannot be the case. It’s the willingness to tie himself to others; family and friends, letting them melt their way into his heart. Allowing them in, even if it scares him to do so.

And still he does so ever carefully. He picks and chooses based on an intuition he never really was able to put into words. He still gets hurt every now or then, though. And when he does, he happens to act foolish and stupid one way or the other.

To balance, a little act of kindness goes a long way. And balance is what Beqanna needs, he thinks. War and unrest may happen, but there must also be a safe place for those who do not wish to pick a side. When there is a sickness, there must be a safe place to counter it. When there’s too much magic, there must be a lull from it.

It’s not too hard to figure out and yet it’s taken him fifteen years or so.

He climbs towards the snowline and no further. If she’ll come, she’ll come to this thin line. Balance is what he needs - to be a horse and a dragon in one, always seems to lead others to presume the latter. They see a predator before they see a person. That’s why he came; having noticed the difference in the place beyond in how he was regarded. Impressive maybe, but not inevitably dangerous. Ice and warmth in one.

Beryl comes to mind. Will they be afraid of me? The answer for her is both. She can enjoy her life as a horse for strangers, after all.

He’s pretty sure he has proven that the ice he bears hasn’t actually changed his heart into ice.

But it’s not for him to decide what he grows into, or not. It’s still a fairy’s choice.

Hi, as always, Leilan overdoes things/I dropped him into a million threads so heh. I had a lot of fun with all the threads I forced him into! Thanks for giving lots of muse and I hope some more to come with the change ^^.

I haven’t decided if he should stay on Icicle Isle or leave it, since Hyaline (and Pangea) is no longer what it was when he left. I wouldn’t mind if you want to prompt him in some direction if you have the muse for it, or just leave it open. I think he’ll keep trying to bring some sort of balance at any rate.
