    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Lepis devotes most of her attention to the appaloosa mare, though she does glance toward Mikael’s playful attempts to capture his dam’s tail. Though Tickaani hasn’t laid out an offer as explicit as Lepis’, the blue mare has shared with Lomasi the quiet life of the Pampas as an alternate option to the bustle of Lepis’ kingdom. Lepis is not concerned that the mare might take Tickaani’s offer over her own; if she does, she would not have been the type to be happy in Loess anyway. Yet still, there is a thrill of success when Lomasi accepts.

The roan is polite in her refusal as well though, and Lepis makes note of this. It has been years since she has worked with a young diplomat. This one has much promise, just as the last had, and Lepis smiles. This one will be better, she decides. Tickaani is less diplomatic, but her tongue cuts a smile across Lepis’ face rather than a frown. Break her?

"Only as one breaks a geode to reveal the gemstone inside," she answers with a raise of her brow and the hint of that smile. "You and Mikael are welcome to visit Loess anytime, of course," the dun mare adds with a soft chuckle as Mikael begins to circle his mother and chant her name.

"Shall we go, Lomasi? I can tell you some things of Beqanna as we go." Turning, the pegasus gestures toward the west, where Loess lays beyond the Meadow and the Forest.

A warm smile spread across the strawberry roan mare muzzle at Tickaani's words, Lomasi would definitely pay the blue mare and her colt many visits as well as see Pampas. " Thank you Tickanni, I appreciate it." the red mare said before listening to the following sentence the roan mare addressed Lepis with. Lomasi could tell the mare meant it as a warning, but she was curious as to why the blue mare felt that way.

Lepis' words cut through the red roan mares mind, it was not so much to break her but the shape her into something that shines. Lomasi felt she had made the right choice, she as also glad to hear the dun mare say Tackanni and Mikael could visit anytime. After the short good byes, the strawberry mare followed after Lepis excited to see what awaited her in her new home.
