    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    EIRLYS

Already the mare has found herself wandering back to the meadows.

Perhaps it is for a reason of comfort. It would make sense, she supposes, because yes, she is in fact quite unsure of her own instincts in coming here. Her eyes drift gradually down to the lush grasses beneath her knives. Soft, whiskery as they brush at her flanks. The blades are green as ever, a dark tint to them. They are beautiful. It is no wonder, then, she figures, why she would seek a place of well-being here. Prosperity. It's a feeling she doesn't think she has felt in quite some time, but this time around she's diving head-first into the internal joy this place gives her. Well, why shouldn't she? Although she wasn't trying to dwell on the past, considering what had transpired these past couple of years..... Eirlys, personally, would say she was in desperate need for some rest.

Her ears angle multiple directions as she gives her surroundings one last wistful awed scan. She takes it all in, absorbs it like fresh, clear water. She is at peace now, after what'd seemed like eons upon eons. Thankful she is, despite her usual preference of not necessarily showing it. She puffs out her forequarters and continues onward through the seas of flowers, taking her time with each step, drinking in the sweet air of the morning. A moment, maybe a couple, passes, and she then spots the boy.

He is a blackish thing of a horse. He looks young, maybe about Eirlys's own age. The dapple mare snorts. She'd been looking for a nice, therapeutic place free of any extra horses. But, suppose in the end she can't always get her way: a severe misfortune, in her opinion.

She also supposed, the only way to get rid of him would be to approach him and say something. Speak up with her discomforts. She was the boss here, after all. From what she could tell she was older than the man by at least a year. A smirk twists her ebony lips and she begins her prance toward him. The ears are pricked, and the smirk, while still mostly a smirk, is a light one. The mare is looking to begin the interaction casually, rather than suspiciously.

    Kiss me again
Kiss me until I am sick of it

Despite his “kidnapping” to Sylva and deciding to give the dark woods a go, he can’t help but come back to the Meadow. His first stop is checking in on his fae family and, surprise, they hadn’t really noticed he had been gone. “We figured you were passed out in a bush somewhere” was the standard response. “In a few more days we might have been worried” shrugs another but they figure he’s a grown stallion that needs to take care of himself. When he questions if they would even care if he came back, he’s met with “What do you think?” Since fae can’t lie they often hide their feelings or true intentions in riddles or wording their answers with evasive finesse. Sometimes it’s hard to decipher and in this case.. He’s not sure if they care or not.

After letting them know that he would be gone for a bit but would check in periodically, he moves about the Meadow. Not just ready to return back to the diseased forest. There’s quite a bit on his mind with recent developments. He’s not sure he’s the best fit for Sylva but Sabra seemed keen to keep him. It was nice… to be wanted. He’s still reluctant though, unsure of what exactly she will expect from him or what she might want him to do. There’s also the lingering memory of a dark spotted girl who glows like spring and when he thinks of her (which is more often then he would care to admit) it simultaneously pisses him off and drives him mad.

He’s lost in his thoughts, sober for once, when a dappled mare comes prancing up to him. It’s enough to make him lose concentration on whatever he was thinking to just stare at her with dark red eyes. Curved ears that had laced back while he was thinking come forward now, a few strands of long dark hair falling over his forehead as he just stands there and stares. There’s a smile on her lips and for the life of him he can’t imagine who she is or what she wants. She’s not bad looking, not at all, and seems close in age to him. He’s pretty sure they haven’t met before unless… Unless he had been absolutely wasted. Which was ninety percent of the time.

A groan slips from his lips as he rolls his eyes. Of course. Autumn had snuck it’s cold weather into the lands and nobody had really noticed the change of season since the landscape was still recovering from it’s time in endless darkness. Everything was already dead but the flirtation in the meadow was at an all time high, a sign of new life to come. He assumes now that this mare was someone he flirted with and can’t remember thanks to faerie nectar. From her prancing, it seems she wants to take the flirtation to the next level. Something he definitely isn’t ready for. Flashing her a thin smile, he tries to dismiss her. Nicer then he usually would. “As attractive as that is, I’m not in the mood today. Perhaps another time.”
