    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

    "But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    [open quest]  you cannot kill me in a way that matters; RESULTS
    #1

    lord, I fashion dark gods too;

    He watches, in curiosity, as things unfold. He catches glimpses through their eyes, of personal heavens and hells, worlds of storms and seas and families (again and again, it’s families), and then the mountain shakes again and he stops watching. He thinks he knows how this story ends. He doesn’t know what the magic is doing to them, does not know if they will survive this, but the air is thick with magic now. He can taste it on his tongue. Were he a weaker sort, he might have descended into madness with them on the fumes alone, but of course he is not.
    The hole they had dug begins to fill itself, the dirt and rocks tumbling back to make the mountain whole again. He wonders if they’re being buried alive, or if they’re already dead.
    Another rumble, and the hole fills faster. The dark god takes his cue to leave. He does not wait to see what happens, he can feel it in the air – the mountain’s fury, Beqanna’s own fury that runs like a fault line through their lands.

    The mountain was almost kind. It does not consume them, perhaps from some instinctual understanding that they were not the main driver of this violation (though whatever nightmares may remain, the mountain cannot say). It spits them back out, scattershot, and once again the mountain heaves, and this time, all of Beqanna shakes.
    The earthquake is felt across the lands, the earth shuddering. Trees fall. Things crumble, a brief and wild moment of chaos.
    It has only just begun.

    Other notes:
    - There was a huge, Beqanna-wide earthquake as a result of the mountain being messed with and Carnage decided to peace out. Your character can be spat back out wherever – back on the mountain, their homeland, somewhere else, wherever. Feel free to reply to this post if you’d like as your character deals with these changes, but absolutely no requirement.
    - In addition to whatever scrambling occurred and the 0-space trait, you may choose any 2 space (or less) trait for your character as your prize for digging into the mountain and making this whole earthquake happen. If you wish to gift this to another character instead you may, as long as the transfer happens IC.
    - Please post in updates reflecting all the trait changes to your character. All prizes are genetic, unless you don’t want them to be.
    - Thanks for playing and being lovely people and writers!
