    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

still trying to figure out who we want to be
    #1

She’s been told about the entities, has seen them in passing, but today Valkyrie goes forward to inspect them up close. The statue, the burning tree. There’s a third, she knows - the one that keeps them safe, the one who makes a noise her mom and older siblings can hear and causes their heads to rise up. There is no physical representation of this one so she imagines that it is the wisteria tree with its soft purple blooms and the charred bark that hints at more troublesome days.

It’s there that she drifts, finding the statue sad and the burning tree a little alarming. On the roots, she folds her legs and settles down, her good eye towards the lake. Scanning the sunlit surface, distracted from her original purpose by the longing to see something jump out of the water. Something magical and new.

When nothing does, and her attention moves upwards to the boughs of the tree, bright with the colours of Hyaline’s spring.

The entity that keeps them safe can grant wishes, that’s what Myrna said. Little ones - though this filly has no grand dreams just yet so that suits her just fine.  She doesn’t think to wish to be able to out of the eye that doesn’t work, having never known anything different she is unaware that this might be something to want. It hasn't slowed her down (though it does give her some good shocks when she turns her head and sees something - or someone - she hadn't been expecting)

Instead, her mind drifts to a simple but captivating magic - one that delights her whenever the moon rises. “I want to glow like my dad.” She tells the tree, unaware that it is not listening. She listens, though, and after a moment of silence thinks the chitter of a squirrel nearby might just be a response. Now just to figure out what kind of response that actually is...

Valkyrie just requesting 'glows in moonlight' from the Cranatomy entity
but if anyone feels like replying they're welcome to!
