    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

[open]  Just like that, tomorrows one day that I'm never getting back

Don't look back, nothing left to see
I can feel you though, wake me from this dreamin
Her small exclamation, that soft “Oh”, sends a thrill of pleasure through him. He rumbles approvingly against her neck where his kiss lingers and pulls back only when she breathes out that one little word again. “Oh.” Seeing the small marks against her flesh and wonders, in the warm gentle haze, where they had come from. His hunger grows and he runs his muzzle along the length of her neck as she slowly lowers her head to the soft sweet grass. Mistaking her lethargy as nectar related, he doesn’t realize that anything is wrong.

She is smiling and so is he, this is a rather delightful afternoon after all. He isn’t ready to nap though, that hunger won’t allow it. He means to move his mouth over her slack shoulder, to rouse her so she might exclaim in that delectable tone again. In doing so, his tongue brushes against the fixed fangs that had sprung up unnoticed and he pauses, confused. Since when has he had those? It is then that he catches the glint of scales that wrap around a forelimb and his blood runs cold.

It is a sharp awakening that reels him from the golden glow of nectar. It is her soft whisper where she lays in the grass, requesting the name of her killer. Fuck. FUCK. Rolling ungracefully back to his knees, he lurches to his hooves. This has never happened before and the panic is a wild thing, something the serpent within tries to take advantage of. The scales flood over his body in waves and there is a strange flickering, like a matrix glitch, as he tries to fight against the overwhelming instinct to shift. It’s not a battle he thinks he will win as his black and gold tail becomes something reptilian, his hindquarters merging from two legs into something blended, sleek and smooth.

His muzzle nudges beneath her neck to where those tell-tale signs of his mistake lay. Unleashing the golden light within where he connects with her, trying his best to send it forth before he no longer can. She had asked him for his name. He should be telling her he is sorry, that he hadn’t truly meant for this to happen. It is with shame that he finds that the words refuse to budge from his tongue. He had been looking for trouble and while this wasn’t what he had in mind… “Obscene.” He manages to say, whispered against her neck in frustration as his panic turns into something more familiar. Anger.

He pulls away, his golden light flickering and fading, as the Serpent rushes forward to claim him. Eager for the meal that he had offered up for it. Before he succumbs to his scales, his red eyes flash with a glimmer of regret as he glances at her horn. “Hurt me.” He whispers, hoping that he had been able to cleanse her blood enough to give her a fighting chance, and then he is gone.

    Hungry. So. Very. Hungry.
