    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

[open]  Even the Little Things can be Fragile

    Wink
Waking up, she takes a good glance around at her surroundings. She moves along over to the take a good look around at the forest, finding it strange for her first view as she observed and took a whiff of the forest with a very calm and relaxed look. What more was there for her to discover of this forest? Would it be curiosity that can kill? Discover? Reveal? What exactly was there for her?

She doesn't look to be aware or concerned about anything as she keeps moving along the tree lines. Her green eyes flickered to the sunlight that came down to the forest. Her white base body filled with the look of black and brown polka dots that shined along with the sunlight. She seems oddly curious about it as she ponders a bit. She moves along the trees and bushes as she makes rustle sounds with her body that hit the plants. Her eyes spot the plants that are all around her.

She moves the plants gently and sets them to make sure they would not break from her sudden walk through the forest as if worried to hurt it like they were far more fragile than anything in life. "Fragile little things." She said out, probably speaking to herself if anything. As if wishing that she were not so big, it would be benefit the plants around her than to crush or break some.

She continues to walk along the forest terrain, as if looking to possibly spot or notice anything that would come out at her yet tell her more.

I'VE WALKED THE EARTH AND THERE ARE SO FEW HERE THAT KNOW
HOW DARK THE NIGHT AND JUST HOW COLD THE WIND CAN BLOW

He still has nightmares about the storm that had destroyed Beqanna—about the way he had been a part of it, even if it had not been on purpose.

He should not have responded to the call to the mountain, he knows this now. No matter how many times he tells himself that the world would have fallen apart even without him there (fate cannot be stopped, and given the state of destruction he is certain that Beqanna would have found a way to destroy herself no matter who had answered the call), it does nothing to abate the images that haunt him in the night.

It does not help that he had changed, too.

Wings made of moonlight now erupt from his sides, silver and glowing, but there is something else less tangible, something that he has not yet figured out—and given the state of the land, he is almost afraid to discover it. The only thing that he knows is that when he had gone to the mountain he’d had sharp teeth, that he had craved meat—the same way he had since he was born, no matter how unnatural that had been. After the storm had settled his teeth had been blunt, just like everyone else’s, and while he no longer hungered for flesh, there was still another monstrous longing on his tongue.

He distracts himself by walking—always walking. He walks through forest though he hardly sees the things that he passes; same trees, same plants, same things as always. But the spotted mare is different, and he catches sight of her at the edge of his vision, and before he can stop himself his pale head is tilting in her direction, and when he makes eye contact he cannot keep himself from uttering an automatic greeting: “Hello.”

She gently placed the twigs and leaves gently, trying to not let it break to sway away with her body that passed through it. Hearing someone say 'Hello' had her turn her attention over to glance at a a white base stallion with navy privative markings which had her tilt her head with curiosity across her face to see that she would actually stumble upon someone in this desolated like forest.

"Hello, who may you be?" She carefully walked over, her hooves tapping a bit with the sound of crushing leaves below as she stopped and tried to not step on any leaves and grass as if to not step on grass as well. Valuing all little things in life, she was very prone to avoid stepping on anything with the look of life but it was impossible to clearly avoid it all. She makes it over to the stallion, looking at him as her eyes glistered with only more curiosity. Yet, keeping her distance from him as to not startle him if anything. Where should she start? Who was this stallion in front of her?

"I'm Snowbell. I awoke here. Are you in charge of this forest?" She says it in a calm and soothing tone, keeping her eyes on him with no caution but only kindness and gentleness.
