[PQ-new] the soft underbelly

[Seasick]

Ever since she was tiny, the Mountain has always loomed in the distance. The shadow it casts across the land is eerie, a chilling breeze seems to always blow through it no matter the season or time of day. As a child, she loved to hear stories about the Mountain, about the land in general  ̶  but the mystical bits, the quests and fairy magic that swirled around the ghostly peak has always been a fascination of hers. She’s waited a long time for the day she’s finally felt worthy of the journey up the treacherous path and to the top to ask a favor.

Sea has spent most of her days next to her mother and happily so, learning from her and generally warding off the need for a group or herd to belong to. They always have each other. Lately though, she has started to wander, spending days and sometimes weeks away from the company of Kota; exploring the world for herself, and fending off danger alone. She has had quite a time, really, and luckily she’s avoided any real injury.

The journey up the terrifyingly high steppes was harder than she thought. Even as fit as she is from her traveling lifestyle, it was a test of her athletic endurance. When she reaches the top she is panting, and relieved to find a pool of crystalline spring fed water, cold and fresh. 

She’s come to ask for something, but she knows many get denied and sent down with nothing. She’s heard the tales.
