    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    [open]  Relaxing Time Out
    #1
Nelke had recently learned she was carrying a foal, her first and she was scared out of her mind but she was fully sure that she would adapt. She was going to survive as she shifted into a Sparrow, she sat on a branch watching the world below her. It didn't take long before she had to revert back to her natural form and watched the leaves falling down from the sky.

Her movement through the field still confident as she stopped by a flower and laid down to just relax a bit. She didn't know where she'd live but she was safe here at least and she'd soon have to find somewhere to live and raise her baby as far from her mother as she could possibly get if you asked her.

    FREJYA

My, how the world has changed.

Frejya circled in the sky above the Meadow, gliding on black and golden wings as she eyed the earth below. Time had passed and everything she once knew had shifted and changed more than she ever had. She could not recognize the world in front of her, but that was probably for the best. She had only ever known death and decay. Born into it. Raised with it. Dealt it.

Once a beloved princess turned vengeful executioner, then a failed queen that ushered herself into the abyss. She was unsure how many years it had been, but it was enough. The ever-burning kingdom she had abandoned after doing away with her father no longer existed, at least not in the form she knew. Maybe it had morphed into a new land and rose from the ashes. Maybe the earth swallowed its rotting expanse whole, returning it to hell where it belonged. Either way, it was gone. And that was just as well.

Golden eyes narrowed in on a mare resting in the grass, and she descended. As her clawed feet hit the earth, her form began to change rapidly. Black scales and spines that glittered gold melted away as the dragon shrunk and bones changed shape, revealing a small black mare, the golden shimmer remaining. Spines that ran from her head to her tail were replaced by a silvery gray mane and tail. Talons gave way to small black hooves and golden reptilian eyes were replaced by plain black.

Frejya shook her body, adjusting to the feel of her typical horse form. She looked the mare over curiously before speaking softly, "Hello, I'm Frejya."

Nelke heard a distant sound but didn't get up she wasn't enjoying the aspect of pregnancy that made her tired. She heard the foot falls and looked up as she quickly rose to her feet, her mother had long made it clear that danger was to be met on ones feet. She didn't know this other horse and she wanted to be careful as she looked at her.

"Hello I'm Nelke." She said as she looked at her it was easier to talk now that she wasn't as guarded and she began to relax a bit as she took a few steps forward to the other mare and looked her over. "What brought you here? Looking to get away for a while?" She asked trying to be friendly even as her ears twitched and moved alert to danger.

    FREJYA

Frejya could sense some unease about the stranger. Unfortunately, she had never developed great social skills. One would think that a princess would have been raised better, but her role models were not the greatest. Her father was perhaps the poorest diplomat and king a kingdom had ever seen. Her grandmother was power hungry and selfish. Her own mother abandoned her due to her father's misdeeds. In return she spent her younger years living with the perception the world was for her taking only to discover the world was cold and cruel and she was nothing but a speck in history.

She tried to relax her own muscles to provide the stranger a sense of ease. Once she may have been a dangerous monster, but anymore she was a quiet loner. Her senses were so much stronger in her dragon form leaving her feeling more on edge as a horse than she should have been. Taking away the sight, sense of smell, and sharper hearing made her feel a bit lost in this body. "Nelke." she said, letting her mouth move gently over the name as she pondered the mare's question. "I'm just wandering." She stated blandly. Frejya didn't have much of a purpose these days.

"What are you doing here? Getting away?" She asked, tilting her golden black head curiously, and then glanced to the mare's belly. "Having a baby?" Frejya couldn't sense it as well in her horse form, but as a dragon it was particularly more noticeable when someone was carrying life.
