    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The sun goes down; the stars come out

Sakari listened, entranced. This place was sounding better and better, and she wondered if at last she had found a place to call her home. All of her life had been a blur, simply traveling aimlessly, yet searching for a home. She had never once been so lucky to settle down in one place, find a mate, or find lasting friends, despite how much she tried. But this Desert... Pevensie made it sound like a paradise, a place where she could find shelter, warmth, and companionship.

One ear twitched as she listened to the stallion going about his business in the middle of the night, though her attention was on the pony in front of her. She began to think a little deeper, about the "light mythical kingdom," as Pevensie called it. Mythics? Never once had she actually put real thought into magic and supernatural abilities, yet here Pevensie was, talking about it. She was in awe of the thought, and Pevensie's apparent ability to bend sunlight, though Sakari was not a greedy mare; she'd be fine even if she didn't gain special powers or recognition.

Love, Loyalty, Service. It sounded like a place that asked for much, yet also gave in return. An organization of mutual benefits. And something that Sakari liked. The young silver girl would have a purpose in this Desert, and in return she would have a home and herdmates who (hopefully) cared about her. That was something that she'd never had before, and she almost found herself leaping at the chance to explore the Desert and see for herself. "It sounds wonderful." Her tone was nothing short of sincere, her dark eyes wide with wonder as they reflected the stars.
