    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

like a tiger with bronchitis? BERGAMOT
    #1
    We do what we must,
    Because we can.

She giggles when she feels him nip her, slowing herself incrementally so as to avoid the fate that quickly befalls Bergamot. She finds herself fighting the urge to wrap him in magic and soothe any pain he might be feeling. It's a strange sensation for Camrynn to care – Cammie, sure, but Camrynn, no. Not for anyone other than Eight.

And so the concern on Cammie's face is genuine as she gasps and runs over to her friend. She noses him gently, as though making sure he's okay, and she's genuinely relieved when he stands up. She returns his grin with an equally brilliant one of her own. And for the moment, all is right with the world as the two of them stand together in the vastness of the meadow, grass tickling their bellies.

"You're a great racer." She says with a smile, allowing herself to be a little bit out of breath, just for effect. "You outran a sister of the Amazons." she says in teasing tones, a smile still on her face. She bumps him with her nose, a friendly, fun gesture. "Someday a kingdom will be lucky to have you." she says, her voice sweet and impossibly adorable.

She exhales gently, collecting herself as her breathing returns to normal. "Do you know anything about them, Bergamot?" she asks him, watching his face and his coat intently. "The other kingdoms. Do you know any of them?" her voice is curious, almost conspiratorial, as though they're talking about something that might be a little bit forbidden. And perhaps it is – perhaps she shouldn't mention anything to the little colt. But what would he do, tell his mother on her? She's met Pomona once now on the training grounds, and she doubts that the woman would take it out on a fellow sister.

She looks around as though checking whether they'll be overheard, then lowers her voice and leans in close, her voice barely above a whisper. She is the image of a conspirator at the moment. "I can tell you about some of them if you'd like."
