    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction

The trip to the Chamber had taken minutes instead of hours as Rhy’s electricity slid them across the sky, a skill he had never seemed to manage himself. They drop at the border where a fire-scorched path smoldered beneath their hooves and the trees burned from the inside out. A deviled smile found its way onto his black lips as the snarls and cries of the myriad before them reached his ears, adding to the roaring of the scaled, clawed beasts that grappled and screamed in the sky blackened by blood and ash.

She is at his side and he can feel her pulsing energy reaching, pulling achingly at his and so he can’t help but give in. The lightning that brewed in his veins, throbbing for release, only heightened the adrenaline that pounded through his heavy frame. The pair watched for a moment as the battle exploded through the Chamber before them, as devastating as the dragonfires that would eat hungrily at Straia’s forest until its ever-greedy belly had been filled. As devastating as they could be.

But they watch for only a moment before she turns to him and he touches her shoulder, the ground immediately shuddering beneath them (if not all of them) as the bright white ball of lightning and electricity burst around them and sucked the oxygen from the air for a breathless second. Slowly-burning trees around them exploded as their power fed and culminated, sending shards of wood into the crowd. Kratos and Rhy together were a pair of ruinous power and their storm ravaged into their enemies before.

    "Evil requires no reason."
The Jungle mares wouldn't recognize the black stallion that stood not far from where they all battled. Although he would possibly remember some of them when he had been there amongst them when he had pretended to love Daeryssa. He had been white and bay then or something equally boring. He had been taller? It didn't matter. Quark would be the only one who would know him, he had little doubt of that. Quark would have known him no matter what skin he wore. He knew that now, it would have amused him to no end if she was here now.

He is in the shadows, deep within the trees that now cover almost all of the Chamber. The fire had been put out, by Evarae, who had turned into a Wyrm and grew the forest of pines until they were almost on every inch of the this place.

Let them fight their battles. He for now had kept his very existence cloaked. His magic was tucked away, cloaked and hidden so that none might find him. His body wasn't even substantial, nothing more than smoke and mist and shadows. He was enjoying this wonderful Chaos. Seeing the threads of them all interwoven until the tapestry was woven in colors of magic and blood. He watched, he waited until they show up together, sliding into the Chamber with their body's aglow and electricity dancing from them.

    What a shit storm.
Pazuzu solidifies as they begin to explode and the black stallion curves their blow back towards them. Instead of the trees splintering outwards away from them, it was now turning back towards them like it hit a wall of something and rebounded. Only from one direction did it return, where he came from the shadows like he was one of them, melting into existence.

His eyes flash and he smiles, then he turns back into the shadows and disappears.

Pazuzu just shows up for a minute to basically say hi. Big Grin

She is alive as they soar to the Chamber on the electric beneath her feet. This is what she knows, after all. Not war, necessarily, but her own powers. They are, in a weird way, the only thing she is very certain of. She has memories of her life in the Deserts, serving in the peace caste (she has always been good with words, deadly though she may be). She remembers Kratos in vague way, flashes of him when he came and went from the Deserts. Mostly, she remembers the way their power calls to one another, as it does now.

Together, they are nothing but pure power. Together, they are nearly unstoppable.

The electric storm that radiates out from them crashes into everything in its path. Mostly trees from where they stand, the kingdom having been nearly taken over by the forest. The trees crack and break, crashing to the ground, though they don’t catch on fire as they should. Magic, undoubtedly.

From one side, the electric comes streaming back at them. She laughs at this, as if her own electric can hurt her. Instead she stands her ground, embracing the storm as it hits her. The electric absorbs back into her skin, strengthening her. The eyes flash in front of her, and she says nothing, but her smile is enough. You’ll have to try harder, it seems to say, though she doesn’t say the taunt aloud.

She is powerful, yes, but there are plenty more powerful than she. She’s not entirely inviting them to really try, but neither will she fear them. A tree comes crashing toward them then, a loud crack preceeding it’s fall. She throws a shield of electric around her and Kratos, the tree splintering as it crashes into her shield.

Around them, there’s nothing but destruction. The lightning around them had faded, though it still sparks off her skin. Broken trees and limbs scatter the area around them, but it’s more clearing then much of the rest of the kingdom had now. She turns to Kratos with a smile. It wouldn’t be long before someone found them here, she’s sure. But they were ready.
