    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Another herd stallion ... interesting. He will have to keep that in mind. He'd thought the Beqannian herd lands all but abandoned. It will be good to know for future reference that he'd been wrong.

And, it's also interesting to know that he's from the Dale. The former neutral mythical kingdom is one that he happens to know very little about - other than the fact that they are very quiet, of course. He wonders idly what side of the upcoming war they will be on, though he doubts he will actually end up facing this particular stallion in battle. A kingdom would be foolish to send such a tiny stallion to fight in a war.

The mare speaks up again, voicing the inevitable rejection. It's a rather pathetic excuse, but he doesn't feel like causing a scene. Not today anyway. However, if this keeps happening to him ...

"Fine. I will leave you to it then." With an attempt at a polite smile and nod, he turns and leaves.
