    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    there is but one rule
    hunt or be hunted
Winter had come unexpectedly one day. The first snow within the colored autumn kingdom had surprised him. So much time had passed that he had lost track of the days and what season they were in. The crown had occupied his time of late, and he rarely found himself wandering what day it was. When the duties of the crown did not call for him, he step his days where he felt most as his best—hunting.

Truly he could never lose that part of him. No matter how much he began his life of being a kingdom-dweller the wild would always call him. The predator would always be lurking within the shadows. The evil within would always be there. And he would always be looking for an opportunity.

Sinner has become familiar with every autumn leaf upon the trees in the forest to almost the very silver-piece of earth on the ground. Sylva has truly become his home, and he made every intention to know its strengths and weaknesses. But knowing the strengths and weakness of your kingdom’s territory did not always ensure the safety. The hound needed to fortify his position as well. Locking his position as well so that Mary would think twice about throwing him over too—it seemed unlikely, but he knew the stories of his oldest sister throwing his father off his own throne. He would make ever attempt to avoid such plans.

Mary carried a part of him now. It was not a baby made by the product of love, but to bond their ties together within Sylva. A child that would be both of theirs and the future of Sylva—perhaps given the crown. He has yet to decide not knowing exactly what Mary and his foal will be like.

The dark beast makes his way through the dark canopy of foliage. It keeps the light at bay, always keeping the dark within. Sinner has not practically direction today. He often has found himself roaming through Sylva. The arrival of new horses within the last couple of months keeps him on alert to greet the newcomers (well, Mary has it rather covered as of late) or possible threats. The plague remained within Beqanna still.

His nostrils flare softly, the scent of a distant scent—no there is more than one this time—fills him. The hellhound’s dark, yet glowing gaze flickers across the autumn forest. Searching here and there, letting his nose sniff and take in the scent until he finds the direction the scent is at its strongest. Quickly he moves, paws finding their step on the forest floor. He rounds around the trees and large boulders, until he spots the trio ahead of him.

    Wolfbane, Lepis, and a youngling.

Sinner had been expecting a visit from Wolfbane for some time. It seemed today the drake had found the time to visit their quiet, humble little forest. The hellhound wears a friendly expression as he comes closer to the small little family. “What a surprise,” the hound greets with warmth as much as any dark creature could. A grin grows across his mandibles as he glances from each other horse that stands in front of him. “I thought you’d never come,” he jokes, and finds a comfortable place in front of the family.
